Ensemble Resonanz spielt Xilin Wang: Musik eines Überlebenden | Internationales Musikfest Hamburg

In an atmospheric concert stream, the Hamburg-based Ensemble Resonanz, conducted by Johannes Kalitzke, will perform a symphony by the revolutionary free spirit Xilin Wang from China. More information can be found in the Elbphilharmonie media centre. Xilin Wang is one of China's most important contemporary composers and writes music of inner turmoil. Not even 14 years of political exile and persecution during the Cultural Revolution could stop him. When his Fifth Symphony, dedicated to the writer Lu Xun, is played, the Elbphilharmonie's Small Hall becomes an audiovisual echo chamber of delusion and shimmer, friction and rage.
