Einsame Verbundenheit

Context

The performance with the Bundesjugendballett was filmed exclusively with natural light, which unfolded in harmony with the sun and the movement of the dancers on the rectangular surface. The constantly changing lighting conditions created a unique atmosphere that intensified the energy of the performance. In three sessions, an almost improvised choreography emerged, with the dancers constantly in dialogue with the light and their surroundings. It was a lively, flowing interaction in which an improvised choreography developed between the dancers and the camera, reacting to both the movements of the dancers and the shifting light. This created a performance that was unique in its spontaneity and its fusion of dance and film.

In a time when the familiar rhythm of life has fallen silent and more stillness than ever pervades our daily lives, this film invites us to find a moment of reflection. The pandemic has not only changed our world but also torn the threads of our relationships and sowed loneliness. Yet, instead of remaining in this isolation, an opportunity arises to embrace this time as a space for reflection. How did we arrive at this point, and with what new perspective do we want to begin again?
